Australia pharmacist exam

We deliver exams on behalf of the Pharmacy Board of Australia (PharmBA). These exams test the skills, knowledge and competency of future pharmacists. This helps to ensure that candidates are ready to practise pharmacy in Australia.


Overseas qualified pharmacists from countries other than New Zealan seeking general registration in Australia are required to pass an examination conducted under the auspices of the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC). The Australian Pharmacy Council acknowledges Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and custodians of country throughout Australia. Pharmacists who qualified in New Zealand prior to the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree being introduce and who are practising, are deemed to have an equivalent qualification. They are used for illustrative purposes to provide candidates with the structure and format of examination items. They may not be reflective of current pharmacy practice, and are not intended to serve as a self-assessment or to correlate with a candidate’s performance on the actual examination. The APEC Exam , also known as the APC Exam , is the assessment graduate pharmacists take to become licensed to practice in Australia. The APC Exam is mandated by the Australian Pharmacy Council and entails a clinical written exam , the contents of which follow the APC Exam syllabus. There are two ways to become a certified Pharmacy Technician – through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
