National Code of Conduct requires landlords to offer rent reductions , in the form of waivers or deferrals of rent, proportionate to lessees ’ reductions in turnover. The laws are a bit dense and the following should help unpacking them.

These new regulations remain in place for months.
A retail lease is covered by different law from a residential lease. However, retail leases require mediation before going to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to resolve the dispute. In a commercial lease , the lessor’s real estate agent is usually responsible for holding onto the security deposit.
