Renew Your Certification. Completing required continuing education (CE) helps pharmacy technicians stay up to date on the latest in pharmacy practice, expand their knowledge, and advance their professional growth. Your NHA CPhT certification must be renewed every years to stay current. It costs $every two years to renew your certification with NHA.

Pharmacy Technician License. Licensees are responsible for knowing their license status.

Check your license status and address of record online at Verify a License. Technicians are required to renew their registration every two years on or before the last day of the month their original technician registration was issued. To learn more about the renewal process, select the type of license you wish to renew from the list of professions below.

You have to apply for a registration number with the state and re-register each year. The state also has requirements that you have to meet to maintain your registration. Technicians will need to through their profile to renew their license online. Creating a profile is free.

Submitting a hard copy renewal form can take 3-weeks for processing.

First Time Users: All individuals must click the First Time User button above and follow all onscreen prompts. Facility registrations expire on June at 11:59pm of the renewal year. Retail dealer permits expire on February at 11:59pm of the renewal year.

PTCB CPhTs are required to renew their certification every years to maintain their credential. Recertification ensures that pharmacy technicians stay up-to-date in pharmacy practice through the completion of c ontinuing education (CE). CPhTs can apply for renewal when their application window is open.

You may update your personal information, employment information, continuing education units, or practice data (as applicable) at any time. A certified pharmacy technician renewal expires on the second last day of the birth month following initial registration. Registration shall not include continuing education for renewal. The renewal fee for obtaining a biennial registration shall be $40. Print completed application and mail in with proper payment to have processed.

NOTE: ON-LINE RENEWAL is available from the LICENSE RENEWAL home page. Permits renewed online are immediate and a paper permit is printed by the technician at the end of the process.

Employment is NOT required to renew your pharmacy technician registration. A copy of the completed CE must be maintained at the pharmacy employing the pharmacy technician. All pharmacy permits and nonresident pharmacy registrations expire on the same date – August of odd-numbered years.

Late renewals are not permitted.
